Adios 2018. What a year that was. Intense. Life changing. So much shifted and changed, awakening an inner strength we didn’t know we had.
The wisdom of what was will now flow into our lives. And Rightly so.
The flower essence healing for January is the Silver Princess you can read more about it below.
2018 in review
2018 was the beginning of a new era. After doing “the work” a lot needs integrating. For some, it may feel like the Phoenix rising from the ashes.
It’ll be awesome to reflect on what was. You’ve got the whole month to do it. There’s still further change to instigate or eventuate as January is eclipse season. This is the clearinghouse month of the year.
2019. The last year of this decade. We’re moving into entirely new energy. An era of profound change. This year can prepare us for the more significant shifts in 2020. We’re being asked to take responsibility for our “stuff.” What’s broadcasted from our hearts. Including what and who makes us feel empowered.
The flower essence of the month
The flower essence resonating this month of January is the Silver Princess.
This essence helps to lift and lighten. It raises us and ignites our inner determination, especially if there’s a lot of work to do. Or, if you’ve been hit by disappointment and in need for that extra oomph to get you up and going. This is the essence of stamina and discipline — the theme for January.
It also stimulates inner strength through change. This is perfect considering January is eclipse season. Focus on what you want to achieve and create.
Eclipses bring in long-awaited changes or create them if you’ve strayed too far off your path. They are the universal reality kicks. Don’t be surprised if something ends and begins abruptly now. This can be felt a month prior or after an eclipse. Even six months for some.
You may feel a strong, assertive power to get moving after a year of consecutive stop starts. Be mindful of this. Go slow around the eclipses and let the dust settle.
Be mindful of any argy-bargy – especially around the new moon.
Be open to new ideas. January sets the tone for the coming year.
The first week begins with a new moon lunar eclipse and aspects to planets Uranus and Mercury. Uranus moves forward just before the new moon.
It may feel like an electric current is running through our system and a lot of excess energy needs to be channeled. Exercise and make sure you’re in your body and not in the head. You can check out some tips further below.
New moon Capricorn solar eclipse Jan 6th
This new moon is about letting go of old structures and creating new ones for ourselves. Look at shortfalls if any and base this on the change you need to make.
Capricorn is the disciplinarian of the astrology so if you’ve worked hard it’s a time you may see the rewards for your efforts.
It’s like the last little bit of tweaking before we head into the new year. Get earthy and grounded as the shifting sands of the new year make themselves known.
This is the time to put new structures in place. Optimize and systemize. There’s an energy of focus and movement now.
January’s self-care is discernment and planning. It’s a time to get organized.
Leo lunar full moon partial – eclipse 21st January
Leo’s eclipse is the last of this 2-year series. A forward moving moon is balancing love, friendship, and work. Being mindful how we express our needs and wants.
Leo is dramatic by nature. It’s also very creative. The creative juices might pop and not stop. This is the time to visualize. This is a strong moon.
Communicating what you need. Even to yourself can change the dynamic within you. It can also create a flow of energy that brings you to want you to need.
There’s a change coming in, in the way we relate to ourselves. Especially to stop the stories we tell ourselves that make us feel less than.
Be in the moment
Enjoy being in the present moment. This is an oldy but a goody.
There is no past, and there is no future there is only now. If our default setting can settle into the present, we’re onto a winner.
Happiness can be fleeting. Deep contentment and connection are not. It’s sturdy and solid.
Seeing with new eyes. The year of presence
I’ve been living in my hills home for over 13 years. After a much needed (and long-winded house renovation) I can see our lake, an old clay pit from the 1950s, from my new kitchen window. I’m noticing things I have not truly seen before. A whole new world of nature has opened up.
Watching with my daughter the other morning gave me the opportunity to deepen my awareness and understanding. We witnessed a family of ducks, duck diving and looking for bugs, food and the like. Diving and staying underwater for almost two or three minutes. Their little tails wiggling as they foraged. They nestled into each other before launching into another dive. They timed their dives perfectly – diving down at precisely the same time. It was perfection.
My young daughter was in awe of their prowess. Her happiness beaming. It was magic. It filled my cup for the whole day carrying with it a sense of something quite special. Sacred almost.
I knew about presence. I understand the importance of being present, especially when I treat in my clinic. This was different.
I wondered how many of these sacred moments present themselves in our every day. From this small snippet in time, I truly feel I integrated knowledge of the essence of presence. A deep resonance which is still with me. It makes me smile. It also makes me feel strangely relieved. A beautiful knowing and reverence to take into 2019.
I had to add. Watching ducks duck dive feels rather symbolic of 2018. Diving deep, finding the nuggets within and then coming up for air. With the winds of change still in the air. January is the month to create a habit of recognizing the power of the moment. Recognizing and feeling grateful for the special in life will fuel us. I think this is the point.
Wisdom collected. Times of change
The wisdom we collected in 2018 is powerful. It’s the foundation from which we can launch into the coming year. I sense this is as a means to prepare us for further significant changes. Especially around this time next year, January 2020. A transit called the Saturn/Pluto conjunction may prove to be a big mover and a shaker.
These planets will move closer and closer throughout the year. Peaking then.
Saturn, the planet of karma and structure. Pluto is about power and transformation. Pluto likes to break down things. Saturn wants to make sure you’ve crossed all the T’s and dotted all the I’s. Get real and be real.
Something deeper is transitioning. This will become more and more evident over the coming months. As Saturn and Pluto are slow-moving outer planets, the wings of change are slow and gradual.
I sense this will see us working with changes that may appear on a global scale. Changes in our governments, our financial structures, and the way we communicate. Certain truths within our society may be revealed. Many coming under scrutiny. Our weather patterns may change further bringing the wake-up calls we need to take better care of our planet.
How we react to this is in our power. Follow your instincts. Trust the process. So much of what no longer serves us will become clear.
We’ve done the inner work – 2018 was so in our face it was hard to ignore much of what we needed to work through. Now’s the time to see what needs further tweaking. And there will always be tweaking.
Reach out if you need.
It’s will a strong and powerful time. Self-care is now a superpower.
2019 Channel the energy
Exercise, dance channel excess energy. Choose love over worry. Connect with the present. The gold is in the now. Eat well, spend the time to connect with nature. I’ve been lavishing my body in this excellent body butter called Arabesque by Verissima – you can check it out here – so healing. It’s now become a morning ritual.
Have regular Bowen Therapy sessions, and/or acupuncture. Anything that can influence the body on a cellular level to move and clear the energy systems. This will renew you and help to embody the positive shifts and changes. Don’t make the challenges and changes of 2018 be in vain.
The mind-body connection will become more noticeable. If you’re an over-thinker. Mind chatter can get in the way; I’ve created a flower essence remedy that calms the mind and can settle this.
Amano is my signature essence that can help you to let this go. It helps you to be present and merely allow yourself to relax. This also helps to build your energy, so you’re not so drained from constant thinking. You can buy a bottle or two here.
Structure and Organise
There’s a lot of responsibility in the air this year. By having structures in place will help you use your time more effectively. Remaining flexible within this will give you further scope. Systemizing is a high form of self-care and management.
Something as simple as meal planning can change your life. It has mine. You can check out Helen Marshall’s Wellness Sistas Program – I’ve created some new and simple changes already. And so timely after a long drawn out house renovation (not quite complete but will be soon). Something I gifted myself and it feels so good. Many changes began within the first week of this program. There’s so much support here. I love it.
Scheduling the to do’s makes sure the important things, the things you love don’t fall by the wayside. This creates a strong sense of self and improves self-confidence.
New doors to open
2019 is an excellent year for healing and breakthroughs. January is creating the foundation in which this year can sit.
* Embrace and change the old stories that continuously play in our heads.
* Listen more
* Be present.
